VAT rate change in Lithuania
 

On July 22, 2009, the amendments to the VAT law were adopted. Starting from September 1, 2009, the standard VAT rate of 21 % will be applied instead of 19 %.

On July 23, 2009, was reduced VAT rate of 9 % for books; non-periodic publications income was postponed till December 31, 2010 and VAT rate of 9 % for heating energy, supplied to residential premises and for the purposes of water heating - till August 31, 2010.
